Youghal, Co. Cork - Photo Walk
My family asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday. Being a rather simple person, I replied let’s take a Sunday drive and get some ice cream and take a walk. We haven’t visited Youghal, County Cork, Ireland yet, so that is where I chose to head off towards. I enjoy visiting Irish coastal villages and towns. The smell of the fresh sea air, and often quite calm, especially on Sundays. I didn't expect it to be as calm as Youghal turned out to be, with nearly everything closed on Sundays.
Dunmore East Harbour Photo Experience
I absolutely love when I can escape in the morning for a photo walk before I get started with work. On this beautiful sunny, but very windy spring morning I headed out to capture Dunmore East Harbour, County Waterford, Ireland. I had hoped to get out a bit earlier to catch more fishing activity around the harbour, but I am not a morning person. That said, I don’t think there was much activity that morning. There were plenty of the boats tied up pier side.
Twilight Photo Walk — Waterford City Centre
I dropped my son off at Waterford Youth Arts Film Workshop, which he attends each week. What is nice about this time of year, being it runs from 7:30 - 9:00 PM, is I can wander around and take twilight photos while he is in the workshop. I was going to film some video of my photo walk, but I kind of just got in a groove of taking photos. In this instance with the low light, I was concerned about spending more time working with filming the video, than taking the photos. That said, I plan to practice with video at night so it is more intuitive than stumbling through it.

The Importance of Prioritising and Protecting Your Creative Time
I didn’t accomplish what I wanted, creatively, in 2025, and while it would be easy to say life got in my way, the truth is I didn’t prioritise and protect my creative time as I should have.
Yes, life kind of got in the way, but I could have made up for it by prioritising my creative time, say over social media scrolling.
To realise your creative potential, you need to be consistent in your creative practice and time. You need to prioritise and protect your creative time. I discuss the importance of prioritising and protecting your creative time in this vlog.
What Has Stopped Me From Getting Started On YouTube … Until Now
For quite sometime, I have wanted to get serious about consistently posting on YouTube. There have been false starts. And frankly, my not making it a priority. Whether it be because, I wasn’t sure what I would present on a YouTube channel, the anxiousness of putting yourself out there, my videos are not as good as others, or I was over planning. Yes, I have hesitated because of all of it.
